Product Care & Safety

Candles Care & Safety

  • When burning your soy candle for the first time, it is important to burn the candle for a minimum of one hour for the wax to fully melt across the width of the jar.
  • For our wood wick candles, please always remember to trim the wick to 1/4 inch before relighting. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large.
  • Once your candle has burnt to the bottom of the jar, you could choose to reuse the jar by removing the wick base and cleaning the jar with warm water and soap.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
  • A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight. A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.
  • Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container.

Return clean Lilin+Co candle jars (no cracks/chips) to PJ Showroom or APW Bangsar and enjoy a rebate on your next purchase.

Reed Diffusers

Reed diffusers provide a gentler, continuous scent throughout the day. The fragrance is more subtle but consistent, making them perfect for maintaining a steady background aroma without needing to light a flame.

Directions: Remove the cap and stopper. Insert 3-4 reed sticks into the bottle. Smaller spaces require only 1-2 reed sticks. Allow 24–48 hours for the fragrance to fully absorb and start diffusing. Flip the reeds weekly for a refresh.

  • Do not ingest the liquid or allow pets to lick the reeds.
  • If spilled, clean immediately to avoid skin or surface irritation.
  • Avoid contact with skin, clothing, or eyes.
  • Evaporation rate may vary depending on air conditions.

Gentle Hand Wash

Our Gentle Hand Wash is made with a mild, skin-loving formula that is paraben-free, sulphate-free, and mineral oil-free. It’s designed to cleanse effectively without stripping your skin.

Directions: Dispense one to two pumps, gently lather onto your skin and rinse well.

Warning: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Store in a cool, dry place.

Room Spray

Directions: Shake well before each use. Spray two to three pumps across your space, refresh as needed. For fabrics, spray at least 30cm away and always patch-test first.

Warning: Avoid contact with eyes. Store in a cool and dry place.  Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Fragrance Oil

Our fragrance oils are highly concentrated blends of premium fragrance and essential oils. They’re designed for home fragrance use only (not for skin or ingestion).

Directions: Add 2-3 drops to your wood or stone diffuser, aroma oil burner, or water humidifier.

Warning: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Store in a cool and dry place. Do not ingest. Do not apply directly to skin (not cosmetic grade).

    Candle Care & FAQ

How should I burn my candle for the first time?

Burn your soy candle for at least 1 hour (or until the wax fully melts across the jar). This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn in future.

For best results, burn for 2–3 hours per session.

Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes! For wood wick candles, trim the wick to about ¼ inch before each burn. Use a wick trimmer or gently remove the black burnt bits with a tissue.

Why can’t I relight my wood wick candle?

It’s usually because the wick hasn’t been trimmed. Trim off the burnt bits before relighting.

Why does my candle jar turn black?

This happens when the wick isn’t trimmed and the flame burns too hot. Extinguish the candle, let the wax harden, then trim the wick before relighting.

What can I do if my candle starts tunnelling?

Wrap aluminium foil around the jar and burn for at least 2 hours. This helps the heat spread evenly and fixes tunnelling.

What can I do with the jar after the candle finishes?

    • Scoop out the leftover wax and use it in an oil burner.
    • Reuse the jars at home—as a plant pot, brush holder, or organiser.
